Argumentation #5: My Country 'Tis of Thee

     do not comply, no progress made in society.

     W. E. B. Du Bois was an African American activist born in 1868 at the height of the realist movement. He was the first African American man to receive a PhD from Harvard University. He lived his life struggling through supported white teachers and the deeply racist Jim Crow laws. Du Bois believed that in order to stay true to yourself as well as to comply to the whites to avoid conflict.
